The Medical Director, National Orthopaedic Hospital, NOH, Jos, Prof. Iche Onche says the hospital will formally commence its operations on Tuesday, offering specialised orthopaedic care to the people.

Onche disclosed this on Monday in Jos during an interactive session with journalists.

He said that the hospital, which was established in 2023, would also commence admitting in-patients within the next few weeks.

According to him, the services that will be offered in the hospital will be purely orthopaedic services based on its mandate.

He listed the services to include adult reconstructive procedures, hip arthroplasty, knee arthroplasty, limb lengthening/reconstruction, management of bone gaps, fractures, as well as spine surgeries.

Onche further said the hospital would offer physiotherapy, pediatric orthopaedic services, arthroscopic, sport medicine, and prosthetic and orthotics services .

The MD noted that the services offered by the medical facility would reduce the spate of medical tourism among residents of the state.

He added that the hospital had the capacity to conduct complex surgical procedures such as hips arthroplasty as well as shoulder and knee replacements.

The National Orthopaedic Hospital Jos was established in 2023 to provide specialised orthopaedic care and transform lives.
